I realized recently that i love to write (especially blog) because that way i can release my thoughts quickly and effectively. Once i have written, i feel detached from my writing. This is a catharsis that many probably feel, through art or music or whatever their passion is. I love to write my book, too, but that needs more time and nurturing and care. I must stay with my book, visit it often, feed it. Blogging is low-maintenance writing, relatively simple and quick.
Explained by rudimentary chemistry:
Experiences and Thoughts-----------------------------------------------> Words^ + Energy | | in the presence of a catalyst (Writing)
Thus experiences and thoughts are turned into words and energy by the use of a catalyst - writing. The words evaporate (as signified by the ^ symbol), leaving behind only energy. I hope, by decomposing my writing thus, i can produce an energy that is positive and recyclable. To be positive, i must generally take a positive view of the world and life. To be recyclable, i hope the writing can be read and shared with others (thanks to Typepad!)
If we were to analyze what we did and understand it fully, it would give us a different perspective, indeed a deeper meaning to us and our lives. This would help us come closer to ourselves, to who we really are or want to be.
